LEGAL
Disclaimers
Last Updated: May 20, 2026
The following disclaimers apply to all content, services, and communications provided by the National Fallen Truck Driver Remembrance Foundation ("NFTDRF," "we," "us," or "our") through nftdf.org and any affiliated communications channels. Please read them carefully. If you have questions about any of these limitations, contact us at info@nftdrf.org.
1. Informational Purposes Only
All content on this website is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes or is intended to constitute a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including legal, medical, mental health, financial, or transportation safety advice. The information on this Site may not reflect the most current developments in any field and is not updated continuously.
2. No Legal Advice
No content on this website constitutes legal advice. NFTDRF is a charitable nonprofit organization, not a law firm. Nothing you read here — including information about workers' compensation, liability, insurance claims, estate matters, or FMCSA regulations — creates an attorney-client relationship or constitutes a legal opinion.
If you have legal questions related to a trucking accident, wrongful death, workers' compensation claim, estate, or any other legal matter, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. NFTDRF does not make referrals to specific attorneys or law firms.
3. No Medical or Mental Health Advice
Nothing on this website constitutes medical advice, a medical diagnosis, or a mental health assessment. Information about grief, loss, trauma, and family support is provided for general awareness purposes only. Every individual's situation is different, and responses to grief and loss vary widely.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified mental health professional or call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988 (available 24/7 in the U.S.). For non-emergency support, the Crisis Text Line is available by texting HOME to 741741. NFTDRF is not a crisis intervention service and cannot guarantee a response to messages received through our website or email.
4. No Transportation Safety Certification
NFTDRF is a memorial and support organization. We are not a transportation safety regulator, certifying body, or industry standards authority. Information on this website related to commercial driver safety, federal regulations, or industry practices is provided for general awareness only. For authoritative guidance on transportation safety regulations, consult the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the U.S. Department of Transportation, or a qualified safety compliance professional.
5. No Investigative Conclusions and No Fault Determination
NFTDRF does not investigate, adjudicate, or make findings regarding the cause, fault, or liability associated with any trucking accident, occupational fatality, or driver death. The Foundation does not make fault-based determinations when honoring a fallen driver. Tributes honor the life, contribution, and family story of the driver — not the circumstances of their passing.
The publication of a tribute on our Memorial Wall is not an endorsement, finding, admission, or statement of any kind regarding the cause of a driver's death, the conduct of any employer, carrier, insurer, or third party, or the outcome of any pending or concluded legal, regulatory, arbitration, or insurance proceeding. No content on this Site may be relied upon or introduced as evidence in any legal, administrative, or insurance proceeding.
6. Memorial Content Limitations
Tribute content on the Memorial Wall is submitted by family members, friends, and colleagues of fallen drivers. NFTDRF does not independently verify the accuracy of the information provided in tribute submissions. We review submissions for compliance with our submission standards and dignity guidelines, but we cannot guarantee the factual accuracy of any tribute's claims regarding dates, employment history, circumstances, or other details.
Memorial Wall content represents the views and recollections of the submitters, not the findings or official positions of NFTDRF. If you believe a tribute contains material inaccuracies or unauthorized information, please contact info@nftdrf.org and we will review the matter.
7. Tribute Accuracy and Editorial Modification
NFTDRF reserves the right to edit submitted tribute content for clarity, length, grammar, spelling, formatting, and consistency with our publication style. We may also remove content that violates our submission standards. Editorial modifications will not materially alter the meaning of the tribute or the submitter's core narrative. We will make good-faith efforts to notify the submitter if significant edits are made.
8. External Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including government agencies, partner organizations, media outlets, and resource directories. These links are provided for convenience and reference only. NFTDRF does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or opinions expressed on any third-party website. Visiting a third-party website from a link on our Site is done at your own risk. We encourage you to review the privacy policy and terms of any external site you visit.
9. No Warranty of Uninterrupted Service
We make no representation or warranty that the website will be available continuously, free of errors, secure against unauthorized access, or free of viruses or other harmful components. The website may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. NFTDRF is not liable for any loss or damage arising from a website outage, content error, or security incident.
10. Emotional Support Limitations
NFTDRF provides peer support resources and community connection as part of our mission, but we are not a licensed mental health provider, crisis counseling service, or clinical support organization. Staff and volunteers are not licensed therapists, counselors, or social workers unless explicitly stated in their individual credentials.
If you are in crisis or experiencing acute grief, trauma, or suicidal thoughts, please reach out to a qualified professional resource immediately:
- 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 (24/7, U.S.)
- Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 (24/7, U.S.)
- SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-4357 (free, confidential, 24/7 treatment referrals)
11. Donation Usage Discretion
Donations to NFTDRF are used to advance the Foundation's charitable mission. Unless a donor has expressly restricted their gift to a specific program or fund at the time of donation, NFTDRF retains full discretion to apply funds where they are most needed. We publish annual financial information in accordance with IRS 990 reporting requirements, which is publicly available. Specific allocation percentages and program spending can be found in our most recent Form 990.
12. Content Moderation Rights
NFTDRF reserves the right to moderate, edit, remove, or decline any user-submitted content — including tributes, comments, or messages — that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates our Terms of Use, applicable law, or the dignity standards of our mission. Moderation decisions are final. NFTDRF is not liable for any consequences arising from the exercise of these moderation rights.
13. No Professional Relationship Created
Your use of this website, submission of a tribute, or donation to NFTDRF does not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and the Foundation, including an attorney-client, therapist-patient, advisor-client, or fiduciary relationship. NFTDRF is a charitable nonprofit organization and our engagement with you is in that capacity.
