VOLUNTEER
Give your presence, not just your money.
Our programs are staffed largely by volunteers — many of them family members of fallen drivers who decided the best response to their grief was to show up for others. We'd be honored to have you.
Open volunteer roles.
All roles include a structured onboarding program. None require prior nonprofit experience.
Helpline Volunteer
2 shifts/month · 4 hrs each
Answer incoming calls on the Family Support Helpline. You'll complete a 12-hour certification program before your first shift. Strong candidates have personal experience with loss, crisis support training, or connections to the trucking industry.
Peer Support Coordinator
Monthly sessions + 1:1 connections
Lead or co-lead monthly peer support group sessions and manage 1:1 connections between family members. Best fit for individuals who have personally experienced the loss of a professional driver.
Family Navigator
Flexible · As-needed
Help newly enrolled families navigate NFTDRF programs — connecting them with financial assistance, counseling referrals, and scholarship applications. A case coordinator role for experienced volunteers.
Administrative & Events
Variable
Support fundraising events, donor communications, social media, and administrative operations. No trucking industry experience required — bring your skills and we'll put them to work.
Apply to volunteer.
Fill out the application and a volunteer coordinator will contact you within 3 business days. We'll discuss which role is the right fit, walk through the training timeline, and answer any questions you have.
